About this policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Augmentus Pte. Ltd., together with its subsidiaries and affiliates (“Augmentus”, “we”, “us”, “our”), collects, uses, discloses and protects personal data across our website at augmentus.tech and related subdomains (the “Website”) and our customer account portal at account.augmentus.tech (the “Portal”, and together with the Website, the “Services”).
It covers the personal data we collect when you browse the Website, submit a form, or register for and use a Portal account. The usage telemetry that the Augmentus software sends once installed is described separately in our End User License Agreement and Product Telemetry Notice, and is not covered by this policy.
This is the Privacy Policy referred to in our Cookie Policy, Website Terms of Use, Portal Terms of Use and End User License Agreement (EULA). It should be read together with those documents; where a signed agreement between you and Augmentus says something different about a specific matter, that agreement governs for that matter.
Who and what this policy covers
This policy applies to:
- Website visitors — anyone who browses augmentus.tech or submits a form (for example, a demo or contact request).
- Portal and account users — anyone who registers for, or uses, an Augmentus account, including free-trial users and licensed (paid) customers.
It does not cover the usage telemetry collected by the Augmentus software once installed (see the EULA / Product Telemetry Notice), or third-party websites we link to, which have their own privacy policies. It also does not change the terms of any separate written agreement you have signed with us.
Personal data we collect
What we collect depends on whether you are using our Website or your Portal account.
a. When you use our Website
- Analytics and usage data — via our product-analytics provider (PostHog), we collect information about how the Website is used: pages viewed, clicks, navigation paths, approximate location derived from IP address, device and browser type, and a randomly-generated visitor identifier stored in a first-party cookie.
- Session recordings — PostHog session replay may capture a playback of your interactions with pages (mouse movement, clicks, scrolling). Sensitive input fields are masked by default.
- Form and contact data — when you submit a form (for example a demo request), we collect the details you provide, such as your name, work email, phone number, company, job title, country and message. These forms use HubSpot.
Where we combine an email address you submit with your prior anonymous browsing activity (for example, to respond to your enquiry and understand which content led to it), that combined information can constitute personal data.
b. When you register for or use the Portal
- Registration data — the details you enter when creating an account: name, work email, company, role, intended application, and robot brand.
- Account and authentication data — your login credentials and account status (for example, trial, Standard or Pro; approval state).
- Licence and entitlement data — the licences issued to your account and their terms, managed through our licensing provider (Keygen).
- Communications and engagement — records of emails we send you (welcome, trial-cadence, release notifications) and your engagement with them, and any support requests you make.
How we collect personal data
- Directly from you — when you fill in a form, register for an account, contact us, or use the Website or Portal.
- Automatically — through cookies and similar technologies on the Website and Portal, as described above and in our Cookie Policy.
- From third parties — for example, where a colleague registers your organisation, or where a partner or system integrator provides your details in connection with a deployment.
Why we use personal data, and our legal basis
We use personal data for the purposes below. Where the law requires a legal basis, the relevant bases under Singapore’s Personal Data Protection Act (“PDPA”) and, for individuals in the EU/UK, the GDPR are indicated.
| Purpose | What data | PDPA basis | GDPR basis |
|---|---|---|---|
| Operate and secure the Website and Portal | Account, authentication, device and usage data | Legitimate interests / performance of contract | Art. 6(1)(b) contract; 6(1)(f) legitimate interests |
| Provide and manage accounts, licences and support | Registration, licence, communications data | Performance of contract | Art. 6(1)(b) contract |
| Understand and improve how the Website and Portal are used | Website/Portal analytics, session recordings | Consent (analytics) / legitimate interests | Art. 6(1)(a) consent (cookies/replay); 6(1)(f) |
| Respond to enquiries and run demos | Form and contact data | Consent / legitimate interests | Art. 6(1)(b)/(f) |
| Send marketing and product communications | Contact data, email-engagement data | Consent | Art. 6(1)(a) consent |
| Comply with law and enforce our terms | Any relevant data | Legal obligation / legitimate interests | Art. 6(1)(c) legal obligation; 6(1)(f) |
Marketing and product communications
If you opt in, we may send you product updates, release notes and trial guidance by email. You can withdraw consent or unsubscribe at any time using the link in any such email or by contacting us. Transactional messages that are necessary to provide the Services (for example, account, security or trial-status notifications) are not marketing and may be sent without separate marketing consent.
International transfers
Because our providers operate in different regions, personal data may be transferred to, and processed in, countries outside your own — including the European Union (where our analytics data is hosted) and the United States (where our forms and CRM provider is hosted), and other countries where our service providers operate. Where we transfer personal data internationally, we rely on appropriate safeguards required by applicable law (for example, standard contractual clauses or an equivalent mechanism).
How long we keep personal data
We keep personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy. How long that is depends on the type of data, why we hold it, and any legal, tax, accounting or dispute-related obligations that require us to keep it. As a guide, our maximum retention periods are:
- Account and licence data — for the duration of your account and up to 24 months after it is closed. Records we must keep to meet legal, tax or accounting obligations are retained for as long as the law requires (generally up to 6 years in Singapore).
- Website and Portal analytics events — up to 24 months.
- Session recordings — up to 6 months.
We may keep information for longer where we need it to establish, exercise or defend legal claims, or where the law otherwise requires. After the applicable period we delete or anonymise the data.
How we protect personal data
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against unauthorised access, loss, misuse or alteration. These include access controls, encryption in transit, and masking of sensitive input fields in session recordings. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Where a data breach is notifiable under applicable law (including the notification obligation under the PDPA), we will notify the relevant authority and, where required, affected individuals in accordance with that law.
Your rights and choices
Depending on where you are, you may have some or all of the following rights over your personal data:
- Access and correction — to request a copy of the personal data we hold about you and to have it corrected (PDPA; GDPR access and rectification).
- Withdrawal of consent — to withdraw consent you have given (for example, to analytics cookies or marketing), without affecting processing already carried out.
- Erasure, restriction, portability and objection — for individuals in the EU/UK, the additional GDPR rights to erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, and to object to certain processing.
To exercise any of these, contact us at legal@augmentus.tech. You may also complain to a data protection authority — in Singapore, the Personal Data Protection Commission (PDPC); in the EU/UK, your local supervisory authority.
Children
Our Services are intended for businesses and professional users and are not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children or minors. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.
Third-party links
Our Website and Portal may link to third-party websites or services that we do not control. This policy does not apply to them; please review their own privacy policies.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top shows when it was last revised. Where changes are material, we will provide more prominent notice (for example, a banner or email).
