You can import CAD files (.step, .obj, .stl), including your real production parts; generate toolpaths automatically for complex surfaces and edges; run full offline robot simulation with cycle-time analysis; and optimise paths for reachability, singularity and collision avoidance. The trial is for evaluation rather than production, so it does not generate robot scripts, deploy to a physical robot, or include 3D scanning and vision-guided part correction.

How do I continue after the trial?

When the trial confirms the fit, moving to production is straightforward. Contact the Augmentus team, select the tier that matches your needs — Standard or Pro — and complete commercial onboarding and activation. We can also arrange a technical discussion to confirm your cell is ready for production deployment.

Can Augmentus work with CAD, in addition to 3D scans?

Yes. Standard can generate toolpaths directly from CAD models (.step, .obj, .stl), so you can program from data you already have. Pro adds in-house 3D scanning, reconstruction, and vision-guided part correction through Augmentus Vision, along with inline inspection and adaptive motion that reacts to part and fixture variation — for capturing geometry yourself or working on parts without reliable CAD.

Can Augmentus work with 3D scans from other sources, such as Creaform or Shining3D?

Yes. Augmentus accepts 3D scan data from third-party scanners, so you can program from scans you already have. Keep in mind that these scans capture part geometry alone — they do not record where the part sits in your cell. Pro closes that gap: scanning through Augmentus Vision locates every point in the robot's own coordinate frame, so the toolpath aligns to the real part position without extra fixturing or manual alignment.

How much retrofit work is involved in setup and calibration?

Augmentus is built for real production environments. Its industrial-grade 3D scanners use sealed, IP67-rated casings that are dust-tight and resistant to water spray, housed in an air-tight protective enclosure built to withstand high-heat conditions.

Can Augmentus scan reflective or dark surfaces?

It depends on the part. Scanning hardware comes with the Pro package, and different scanner types suit different surfaces — blue-laser and blue-LED scanners resolve fine detail on dark or reflective surfaces, red-laser scanners cover large parts in a wider field, and structured-light scanners capture large or complex surfaces in fewer passes. Because the right choice depends on part size, accuracy, and finish, we'll work with you to match the scanner to your parts.

Can Augmentus adapt when the workpiece position shifts after setup?

Yes. Augmentus adapts to parts that are not placed precisely, removing the need for exact fixturing or manual alignment. AutoAlign, part of the Pro package and powered by Augmentus Vision, scans the workpiece, compares it to the reference model, measures positional and rotational deviation, and corrects the robot path within the limits you set.

Where is my project data stored?
