Frequently Asked Questions
Trial Access
What is the waitlist for?
The waitlist is for companies interested in accessing the AutoPath Trial License. It allows us to notify you as soon as trial access becomes available and coordinate onboarding.
Who is this trial intended for?
The AutoPath Trial License is designed for:
- Process engineers (finishing, material removal, welding, etc.)
- Robotics engineers
- Automation teams
- Manufacturing technology leads
No prior robot programming experience is required. The trial allows users to evaluate AutoPath’s automatic toolpath generation, and advanced robot simulation capabilities in a hands-on environment.
Trial Scope
What capabilities are included in the trial?
The Trial License includes selected capabilities from the Core package, including:
CAD file import (.step, .obj, .stl)
Automatic robot toolpath generation
Toolpath visualization
Robot simulation
For a complete breakdown of functionality, please refer to the product page
Are there any feature or usage limitations?
- Supports CAD file import only (.step, .obj, .stl)
- Does not support robot script generation
- Does not support deployment to physical robots
Can the trial be used on real production parts?
Yes. You may import CAD files of actual production parts (.obj, .stl, .step) for evaluation.
However, the Trial License does not generate robot programs and cannot be used for live production execution.
Setup & Use
What systems or hardware does the trial support?
Because AutoPath performs geometry processing, toolpath computation, and 3D simulation, performance depends on part complexity (mesh density, surface count, feature detail) and hardware configuration.
Recommended baseline for evaluation:
Operating System: Windows 11 (64-bit)
CPU: Intel Core i7 (13th Gen or newer)
Memory: 16GB
Storage: 512GB
Performance Note
- Simple geometries and low-resolution meshes will run smoothly on mid-range systems.
- Large CAD files, high-resolution meshes, and complex multi-surface toolpath generation benefit from: Higher core-count CPUs and 32 GB+ RAM.
For production-scale deployments, hardware specifications may be higher depending on workload requirements.
If you are unsure whether your system is suitable, our team can advise based on your part complexity.
How many users can access the trial?
Trial licenses are typically issued per company and may be limited to a fixed number of named users. Final allocation will be confirmed upon approval.
Can the trial be shared within my team?
The trial may be shared internally within the approved team. Redistribution outside your organisation is not permitted.
Evaluation & Next Steps
Is technical support available during the trial?
Yes. Limited onboarding guidance and technical support are provided during the trial period to ensure proper evaluation of AutoPath’s capabilities.
How do I continue using the software after the trial?
To continue using AutoPath:
- Contact the Augmentus team.
- Select the appropriate license tier (Core, Pro, or Auto).
- Complete commercial onboarding and activation.
A structured technical discussion can also be arranged to assess production deployment readiness.
