About your role
- Boundary Analysis
- Define clear scope and interfaces between system components (robot controller, sensor, server, UI)
- Document functional and non-functional boundaries, data contracts, and integration points
- Identify and manage dependencies, edge cases, and potential risks
- Feature Feasibility Assessment
- Work with engineering leads to evaluate technical complexity, resource needs, and implementation approaches
- Create PoC prototypes or spike solutions to validate new technologies or integration patterns
- Estimate effort, surface potential blockers, and propose mitigation strategies
- UX Analysis & Validation
- Conduct user research (interviews, surveys, usage data analysis) to uncover pain points and opportunities
- Translate insights into actionable wireframes, prototypes, and user journeys
- Collaborate with designers to iterate on UI flows and ensure a seamless, intuitive experience
- Cross-Functional Communication
- Act as the liaison between Product Management, UX, QA, and Development
- Maintain up-to-date documentation: specs, flow diagrams, decision logs
- Present feature proposals, trade-off analyses, and project updates to stakeholders
- Sprint Planning & Agile Collaboration (as needed)
- Participate in backlog grooming, sprint planning, and stand-ups to ensure alignment on scope and priorities
- Help break down features into user stories with clear acceptance criteria
- Support the team in removing impediments and maintaining sprint cadence
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related field
- 3+ years of experience in a product-centric engineering role (software, robotics, or similar)
- Experience with robot arm programming and industrial automation
- Proven ability to model and document system boundaries and interfaces
- Strong background in user research methods and UX best practices
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum ceremonies and tools (JIRA, Confluence, etc.)
- Comfortable estimating effort and assessing technical trade-offs
